Back Ache, Menopause and Vitamin D

If you suffer with long term back ache or back ache associated with the Menopause are you taking Vitamin D supplements?

We all know that the best source of Vitamin D is sunlight but many of us simply don’t get enough exposure due to the climate, time and high factor sunscreen etc.etc...

Talk to your doctor about Vitamin D, even ask for a blood test. I have had many clients come to see me with severe back ache and Feather has time and again told me they are Vitamin D deficient and prescribed a high dose of Vitamin D.  As soon as they start taking the supplement there is a marked improvement with back and joint pain.

This of course isn’t a one size fits all and should in no way go against the advice from your GP. Hhowever if you are in a lot of pain, before resorting to other more invasive procedures, check that you are able to take Vitamin D and give it a go.  For many of my patients it really has been sunshine in a bottle.
